An island map and glyphstone checkpoints give the first adventure a better sense of direction.
Start somewhere
Crownfall is the first island. It is where the standalone adventure begins to teach you its habits: look around, gather something useful and pay attention when the wildlife starts looking back.
The terrain has been getting its rivers, progression zones and routes. This milestone adds an island map and glyphstone checkpoints, giving exploration a little more structure.
Find your way back
The map gives the ground you are walking on a readable shape. Glyphstones provide checkpoints along the journey. Those two additions make getting your bearings a system instead of a personal talent.
Navigation work continues alongside them. A route that looks good from above still needs to make sense when a player and an enemy are trying to cross it from opposite directions.
The first shore
Crownfall is the starting place for a larger island journey. The castle and the later descent into Hero Cave become landmarks in that opening adventure as development moves forward.
For now, take a look at the map. Pick a direction. If something large objects to your choice, there is no shame in revising the itinerary.
